Summer Outdoor Activities in Evian and Thonon: Big Thrills Between

Between Lake Geneva, the Chablais rivers and the peaks of the Portes du Soleil, the Évian-les-Bains and Thonon-les-Bains area is a dream playground for outdoor lovers 🏔️.

Rafting, hydrospeed and canoe raft on the Dranse, canyoning in Morzine, via ferrata in Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, tandem paragliding above Morzine-Les Gets, mountain biking on the Gavot Plateau: every outing shows you the great outdoors from a new angle, with cool water and wide-open views.

For 30 years, Takamaka has been introducing people to outdoor sports, whether they're complete beginners or regular athletes. Our mountain guides, rafting guides and paragliding instructors are all state-certified and share the same spirit: kindness, availability and good humour. They know the terrain inside out and turn every outing into a memory.

💦 Our white-water activities

On the Dranse near Thonon-les-Bains, rafting is a team adventure from age 8, while hydrospeed and canoe raft, for the more athletic from age 14, put you right up close to the rapids 🌊. Hydrospeed means riding a float with fins on your feet, and canoe raft means piloting your own little two-person raft. In Morzine, the Nyon canyon alternates jumps, natural slides and abseils, from age 12. The technical gear is provided: all you need is to be able to swim and to bring swimwear.

⛰️ Our mountain activities

In the mountains, tandem paragliding takes off above Morzine-Les Gets from age 5, with Mont Blanc as your backdrop 🪂. The Saint-Jean-d'Aulps via ferrata, from age 10, blends hiking and climbing into a half-day outing, with no previous experience needed. And for riding in the middle of nature, our guided mountain bike rides, on a classic bike or an e-MTB, take you across the Gavot Plateau, the Balcons du Léman, the Portes du Soleil or the Abondance Valley 🚵.

Whitewater

Julien is an incredible guide! It was a small group of four—my girlfriend, two strangers, and me. Great team, the water was great, and the experience convinced me of one thing: rafting is and always will be my favorite sport! If I lived closer, I’d go more often. I recommend it 100%. Thanks again to the team—and especially to Julien—for making sure we had an amazing time! Hoping to come back soon with a bigger group. See you soon, “the glittery shrimp” 😉🫡

Canoe Raft

We had an absolutely amazing time on our canoraft trip! A huge thank you to our instructor, Nono, who really made it a treat from start to finish.
He was fantastic: his explanations were super clear, professional, and full of good humor, which let us enjoy it 100% and have a great time with complete confidence. The real bonus? We got to take home some photos and videos to capture the whole experience! 📸🎥
A huge thank you to him for this amazing time—we’d recommend this experience without hesitation! 🔥

Hydrospeed

We had a great day with Servo. I went in with a lot of preconceived notions and not much enthusiasm for hydrospeed, but right from the morning, Servo managed to spread his good cheer to us, which immediately got me fired up. Once in the water, it was pure fun—it felt like I was riding down with a buddy. It went by so fast.
Charmed by his good humor and passion, we didn’t waste any time and spent the afternoon rafting, still with Servo, who made sure we had an absolute blast on the ride down.
Beyond the activities, the area itself is worth the trip—there’s a little restaurant that serves all-homemade food and is full of good vibes.
I highly recommend this place.

❓ FAQ
